Work in FLO!
Family members returning to the Washington area may be interested in applying for the available full-time Unaccompanied Tours Specialist (Program Specialist, GS-09) position in the Family Liaison Office (FLO). The incumbent of the position provides support and assistance for employees and family members separated by service at unaccompanied posts, provides assistance for reentry into life in the U.S.A., maintains contact and assists in resolving bureaucratic issues that may arise out of separated families, and works on special projects as designated by the Office Director.
This is a two-year limited appointment, with potential to be extended up to a maximum of five years (Excepted Service, Schedule A—not in the Competitive Service). The selected candidate will receive a two-year, non-career term appointment with benefits (FERS, TSP, FEGLI, and FEHB). The incumbent of this position reports to the Division Chief through the Unaccompanied Tours Officer.

Crisis Management Officer Position Available in FLO
Family members returning to the Washington area may be interested in applying for the available full-time Crisis Management Officer (Family Liaison Specialist, GS-12) position in the Family Liaison Office (FLO). The incumbent of the position is responsible for developing and coordinating programs and support services for employees and family members in the following areas: evacuations from overseas posts; security-and crisis-related concerns; separated family members (divorce, other separations); and special projects designated by the Division Chief.

Foreign Service eInternships
The
Virtual Student Foreign Service (VSFS) is a unique opportunity allowing U.S.
citizen college students to engage in citizen diplomacy through virtual
internships (eInternships) with U.S. Government federal agencies. VSFS
enables students to work remotely to support the work of the USA around the
world. Applications will be accepted July 2-20, 2013 for 276
extraordinarily interesting projects with the State Department and many other
agencies, available through this USA Jobs
vacancy announcement.
The
VSFS program has seen enormous growth since it was first announced in May
2009. This year, for the first time, students will choose from projects
with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Foreign Commercial Service
(FCS), and Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) in addition to the Smithsonian
Institution, Department of the Interior, and the Department of Education.
U.S.
citizen college students interested in applying for a VSFS eInternship position
for Fall 2013 through Spring 2014 may apply on USA Jobs
starting July 2 and ending on July 20. Students can view the projects and
